Authenticity Policy

Effective Date: May 18, 2026

1. Purpose

This Authenticity Policy sets out the scope and inherent limitations of the authentication review performed by Lusso Rinnato on every Product offered through the platform. A description of the operational steps performed by our team is available on our Authentication Process page.

2. What We Do

  • Every Product is sent to our authentication hub before being shipped to the Buyer.
  • Our in-house experts perform a physical inspection of materials, stitching, hardware, stamps, serial numbers, weight, and construction.
  • We compare the Product against reference items and our internal database of authenticated examples.
  • We review provenance documents and photographs submitted by the Seller.
  • Each Product is reviewed by at least one expert, with a second-expert quality check for higher-value items.

3. What Our Review Is — and What It Is Not

The result of our review represents the considered professional opinion of our in-house experts at the time of inspection.

Our authentication review:

  • is not a certificate of authenticity, proof of authenticity, or similar instrument;
  • is not based on data provided by, nor endorsed by, the brand or manufacturer of the Product;
  • does not bind any brand or manufacturer, who may reach a different conclusion;
  • may not be relied upon by Buyers or any third party as evidence of authenticity in dealings outside the platform; and
  • is limited to the items that an expert can reasonably assess by visual, physical and documentary inspection.

Counterfeit techniques evolve continuously. While we make our best efforts to identify non-authentic items, no marketplace can guarantee absolute detection of every possible counterfeit.

4. Scope of Review

Our review is limited to authenticity, condition and material conformity with the listing. It does not extend to:

  • valuation, fair market price, investment value, or future resale value;
  • tax, customs, or import/export classification;
  • operational or safety testing of mechanical items beyond visual inspection;
  • verification of the chain of title, provenance documents beyond visual review, or the legality of the Seller’s acquisition;
  • any item-specific feature not visible to the expert during inspection.

5. Buyer Remedy if a Product is Not Authentic

If a Buyer reasonably believes that a Product received is not authentic, the Buyer must open a case under our Buyer Protection policy within seven (7) days of delivery and follow the process described there. Lusso Rinnato will conduct a post-delivery review. If we determine that the Product is not authentic, the Buyer will receive a full refund of the Product price upon return of the Product in the condition received, using a prepaid return label provided by us.

Refunds under this policy are the Buyer’s exclusive remedy for authenticity issues against Lusso Rinnato and are subject to the limitation of liability in Section 11 of the Terms of Service.

6. Action Against Sellers of Counterfeit Items

Sellers who submit Products determined to be counterfeit, replica or otherwise non-authentic are in breach of the Seller Agreement. Consequences may include account termination, retention or destruction of the Product, reporting to brand-protection programmes and competent authorities, and full indemnification of Lusso Rinnato for resulting losses.

7. Brand Owner Notices

Trademark and brand owners who believe a listing infringes their rights may submit a notice through our IP / DMCA process. We cooperate with brand-protection programmes and law enforcement.
